Anyone else find it weird that Tucker Carlson has been a host on Fox for ten years and no one gave a fuck about him until last year when he started advocating economic views outside of the neoliberal consensus and then suddenly he's the paradigm expression of white nationalism?

just seems the person replied to was doing the flip of what they were complaining about: they're wrong because they're moralizing (they are), I'm right because I'm not (doesn't follow). I can reply that immigrants boost production and demand, and then we need numbers etc
My post did not criticize increased immigration. It was specifically criticizing a left for whom *unrestricted* immigration - handing a passport to anyone who asks - *and* wage parity are *baseline demands*.

These can't be front-line minimum demands because they are the stretch goals of capital, shit Murdoch and Bezos and the rest couldn't even ask for in public. If you ask for 25 dollar minimum wage, prison abolition, OB and Medicare for all: you get OB.

Similarly, if you ask for wage parity all down the line, everyone takes a pay cut. Even those at the very bottom, but the poverty will be distributed in a very progressive way among the working class, because it has no bargaining power and its allies insist it's overpaid
