Maybe I have my own problems but I like Zizek’s and Badiou’s idea that monogamous commitment is a much more radical form of romance than the carnival character stuff that’s popularized in pseudo-radical circles today.

Lol forget romantic attachments. People can't even make friends anymore because the invisible hand shaped a way to instrumentalize people that's 1) inimical to anything approaching altruism and 2) way, way more personally enriching than altruistic strategies.
