I don't think I really understood Crash 95 but that might have been because it was a VHS rip from cinemageddon that looked like it was recorded off a live broadcast (though there's no way it was ever on TV)

I honestly think it’s one of Cronenberg’s weakest films and it loses a lot by turning it into a serious film rather then a darkly humorous one.

Yeah, that sounds right. It actually felt like a dark comedy to me, just without any laughs.
