My take on #dsacon2019, as a DSA member who cares deeply about this movement but now plays a different role than I previously have and did not attend Convention:
Only 7% of Americans use Twitter and we need to reach way more of the working class humans to build a mass movement.
The distinction is simply no longer relevant. We can't continue to pretend the phenomenon you're undoubtedly addressing here is limited to a walled-off space called "online." That ship sailed in 2016

Bullies, wreckers, radlibs, "SJWs," whatever you want to call them. We were told they would never show up to meetings, that they were a boutique issue, but they did show up, and they're making a serious bid for institutional power.

Hard to believe you'll attract anyone over 30. We see this and laugh because it reminds us how naive we were at that age. The young kids, God bless 'em
