You're a union man. What would your local do if you asked them not to clap? Not to use "gendered language"? Including "comrade"? If you made it clear it was you or them on this issue, who would they pick?

Literally anything else they could be doing, including attracting members. Both Bernie and Trump host loud, raucous rallies, as do the GOP and DNC. This is the standard mode of participation in political events. Changing it requires extensive on-the-spot "correction," clearly.
