Like, as leftists, crime is a touchy subject, especially the types that we can't immediately link to poverty. Interpersonal/domestic violence is always case-by-case and there are rarely witnesses. On the other hand, everyone on Twitter has now seen the demand for no clapping.

You think I'm being cruel but the truth is I simply do not have time to accommodate the demand of every person who has one. I have to use my critical facilities to decide if it's worth holding those around me to a standard before I commit to a moral position.
Not everyone can be so discerning, I'm sure. That's why there were people in that hall calling for the death of those who obstinately insisted on showing their approval of speakers in the way that has been accepted for centuries, rather than the new better way.
