Often struck by the hypnotic spell the british accent seems to cast on americans when it comes to comedies. I can't fathom considering peep show anything above an average sitcom but in The US it seems to be regarded as some kind of a Great Work

first two seasons of the uk office probably are still funnier on balance, especially as they were coming out, but it's been so unimaginably tainted by your man who's to say whereas the us office ended up being a show about how great it is to work in an office which is demented

It ran 2005-2013, so for a significant portion of its run a secure but unpleasant office job was an unattainable dream for much of its audience
