      The difficulty of talking about superheroes is that what people mean by that isn't really a genre but two mammoth franchises that have been running for almost a century. It's fundamentally unlike the heyday of the Western because no one has the creative freedom John Ford had.

      "I have never seen a truly great superhero movie" sounds as small-minded as the condemnations of all science fiction by certain highbrow writers. Imagine it as meaning something like "I have never seen a truly great Star Wars or Harry Potter movie" and it sounds much fairer.

          Fits the progression of the series to me, and it's the best of the books. I wouldn't say it's a "truly great film" but as kids' movies go you could do worse
