Me: I wish white people protested when a Black man is murdered they way they do when they need a haircut.
Him: Some of us are outraged, and not at all shy about declaring it.
Me: If i say "white people" and it doesn't apply to you, you are not the white people I am talking about. Right now there are people willing to risk infection during a pandemic, storming political spaces fully armed, because they feel their rights are being violated.
Me: Where are these people when someone like me is murdered? Him: You're right. But if white people stormed political buildings and offices armed to the teeth outraged over the killing of innocent blacks, an oppositional crowd of equally well-armed white people would show up.
Me: I don't see a problem with white people fighting with white people to end racism. Black people didn't start racism or spend centuries enforcing it. Racism is a white people problem which affects black people and people of color disproportionately. Y'all need to work it out.
