The best advice I got about presenting as a grad student is to highlight your own work. Please dont use your 10-15 minutes to talk about others works only to run out of time to talk about what you have done.

This thread is so frustrating but so good. Delays/other problems that airlines pretend are out of their control are really the results of their conscious choices to run bare bones operations that cut costs at every turn. They can do this bc there's no competition.

Minor Friday gripe: why do journals make authors put their tables at the back of the manuscript? As a reviewer, it would be much easier to assess the work effectively if tables were placed in with the text.

This format is intended to reinforce horse race dynamics. CNN doing a huge disservice to both the candidates and the public by running things this way.

Honestly, this format is a disservice to voters. It's artificial, choppy, inconsistent with coherent ideas, and more theater than debate.

A really important distinction among the Democratic candidates is whether they identify anyone as at fault in their explanation of our economy. Warren and Sanders stand apart from the others on this.

Edward Orozco Flores's new book, Jesus Saved an Ex-Con, is a strong contribution to sociology of religion and social movements. I was happy for the opportunity to write a featured review in :
