I think it's more the frustration of the reaction and/or potential abuse than it is about the length or brevity of the post.

Everyone I know who's been intimidated here or left the platform has done so because of the abuse, full stop.

Consider the flip side, how long it will take to read feeds? I DREAD 280 chars, I VALUE skimming tweets. Make threading & moments better.

I rather liked it. Instead of writing more than 1 tweet to finish a thought, it was all in one tweet! 140 characters is too short.
