We expected (and
!) all the snark & critique for #280characters. Comes with the job. What matters now is we clearly show why this change is important, and prove to you all it’s better. Give us some time to learn and confirm (or challenge!) our ideas.https://blog.twitter.com/official/en_us/topics/product/2017/Giving-you-more-characters-to-express-yourself.html …

I'd love to see you do a graph of the responses. A word cloud so we can count the number of times people said "Nazi"...
-
It's easier to spell and much shorter than White Nationalist.
-
Heck, you could fit "Nazi, KKK" and another group or two in the characters "White Nationalist" takes.
-
YES! I often do just that!
-
Me, too! Can't fight what you can't see.

@jack you come across as arrogant & really missing the point. "Confirm or challenge" yr ideas? You didn't say change. Smart folk hate this. -
Hey Jack - you know intellectuals & writers HATE THIS? The constraint is a discipline that moves thought & language forward. Just sayin'

It doesn't feel like learning. It feels like "haha, you knuckleheads!" while ignoring what people have been telling you for a LONG TIME.

What about "threatening literal nuclear war violates our TOS" do you have such difficulty learning?

I think we've mastered the brevity with threads and moments. (And strategic graphics) Doubling characters doesn't really add anything.

Twitter initially told someone that an account calling for genocide, literally, of a group of people was not abusive or against TOS.
-
Twitter eventually changed their stance and shut down the account, but not until many, many people questioned it. Why is that?
-
The Tweet in question that Qasim reported and for which Twitter responded it didn't violate TOS regarding abuse/threatening/harassment.
