If you’ve been watching, twitter is deleting followers of conservatives and republicans. People are losing 1k followers and being erased from the search bar.

As we become lesser to our computing “companion species”, we have to value more and more the human secret sauce in cache memory, value more and more the ineffable buffer that is us, the functions we provide in between the cut and paste.

I found it very interesting he proposed introspective meditation as a research tool. As you practice meditation, don't you think that observing your mind actually also changes how it works?

Also, I would recommend this book again: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/36325702-the-mind-is-flat … I read this book before learning much about the practice of introspective meditation, but I now actually think there might be interesting connections.

I do not agree. I think that is just a hypothesis that is completely refutable. We are able to develop algorithms. We create them, not the other way around. Our brains are non-stop-programming-machines-. We can NLP our brains. This is a meaning of "Free will" in a free system.

That’s an interesting quote you’ve highlighted. It’s also paradoxically unusual given that most users of mass technology (like @twitter) have already surrendered to algorithms as payment to use the technology. Isn’t this correct?

We're seeing how groupthink works. Takes *effort* to think independently. And even with real effort, how do you know you aren't influenced by tribal factors? PS: Please, please stop censoring people unless they are breaking laws (ie calling for violence). It is causing bias.
