But you must recognize the argument that Alex Jones has repeatedly violated your platform’s standards, to the point that he is currently embroiled in MULTIPLE lawsuits, parts of which relate directly to things he has said and done on Twitter & Periscope.

There is an incredibly good reason he has been banned by practically every other major platform. At the end of the day, the message you’re really sending is, “Our standards differ from our competitors in that we do not find this type of content immediately bannable.”
-
This has nothing to do with what our competitors do or don’t do. We believe it’s important to consistently enforce our rules.
-
But you’re not doing that. It is a fact that Jones has repeatedly violated your community standards on hate speech and violence in the past few years (at least). So either you didn’t enforce your rules previously, which would have led to a ban, or you’re not enforcing them now.
-
Also, and this would be very informative to know because I’ve run into it with trolls myself: Does Twitter not take action against users who post tweets that violate community standards if the user deletes them after being reported?
-
It is clear that most suspensions are part of an automated, often draconian algorithm. Celebrities like Alex Jones receive a lighter touch than the average user because his posts are being reviewed by real humans. I’m sure he will be gone soon.

What do you have to say about the countless people who've @'d you over the past couple weeks with stories of being suspended for completely innocuous reasons in response to Nazis and other people violating ToS? And do you think this was the first time Jones deserved suspension?
-
Jack wants to establish that he has discretion in these matters, since on a purely TOS-based assessment, the President would have been kicked off long ago, which Twitter can't afford.

That's neither a credible nor plausible statement.

It clearly is different, as you've now admitted that Alex Jones violated your policies, and you didn't do a thing about it.
-
Jack is illustrating clearly that he needs bad actors on Twitter.

I was given a 7 day suspension in May for egregiously tweeting fake spoilers to The Walking Dead when someone asked for them. I actually lost the appeal, too. But I'm glad you people have such clear standards and are cool with Nazis.pic.twitter.com/GuxqWsr9lP

Here’s how we got here today. You: A. Let Nazis and other hate groups run wild B. Let them game the reporting system to generate suspensions for obvious jokes Should I continue to C, D???
