To clarify: I was speaking broadly about our range of enforcement actions, when asked why we timeout functionality on Twitter. I don’t assume everyone will change their actions. Enforcement gets tougher with further reported violations.https://twitter.com/cwarzel/status/1029780813787754496 …

I’d argue that this line of thinking from @jack is part of the problem. Jones and others are not normal users. Jones has been doing this for 20+ years (and it’s been very lucrative!). A suspension is not going to make him rethink his behaviors pic.twitter.com/jAaZFItjdt

We have some evidence to show this does work. It won’t in every case. And we need to constantly evolve our enforcement actions. There will never be a perfect endpoint.

I was given a timeout for saying there are only two genders. It made me think about how incredibly bias and insane Twitter’s policies are.

Why is he still allowed to broadcast on Periscope—which is owned by Twitter—during his “suspension”?

Why was I given a timeout and a strike for telling Kevin Spacey to burn in hell after the allegations of him sexually harassing a minor made headlines?pic.twitter.com/m4SDZj2NY6

The problem is that when Twitter doesn't transparently state which "actions" are alleged to have been in violation of your (nebulous) TOS.. how can users avoid future violations? Why does Alex Jones get special treatment re: Twitter specifically stating alleged violations?

THIS!! I have been put in “timeout” more than once. I was also entirely banned from @PeriscopeCo. To this day, I DO NOT KNOW WHY!!! How are we to be held accountable to your TOS if you won’t even tell us what we did to violate them?

I heard they drove nazis out of our small town over a decade ago. Two thousand ppl drove out nazis. Yet...they won't ban them from this social platform.

Maybe you're right on the perfect endpoint. But do you know what would be a good start? Banning the Nazis. That might be good. To. Ban. The. Nazis.

Oh come on, @Jack, your enforcement is selective at best and we all know it. You dinged Candace Owens for tweets near identical to tweets you left up for 4 fucking years from Sarah Jeong. She changed 1 god damned word. Stop feeding the whiners and let us speak freely.

Why aren't users told how how many 'strikes' they have on their account? Or how long those strikes last? Or how many strikes constitute a total ban? Your lack of transparency only fuels concerns of your company's inherent bias and selective enforcement of policies.
