Truth is we’ve been terrible at explaining our decisions in the past. We’re fixing that. We’re going to hold Jones to the same standard we hold to every account, not taking one-off actions to make us feel good in the short term, and adding fuel to new conspiracy theories.
If we succumb and simply react to outside pressure, rather than straightforward principles we enforce (and evolve) impartially regardless of political viewpoints, we become a service that’s constructed by our personal views that can swing in any direction. That’s not us.
Accounts like Jones' can often sensationalize issues and spread unsubstantiated rumors, so it’s critical journalists document, validate, and refute such information directly so people can form their own opinions. This is what serves the public conversation best.

Thank god for seeing one social media platform that talks sense. Banning Alex jones and leaving up antifa and other hate sites shows political bias and it’s scary that one man who owns a social media site has so much control over what people see and don’t see based on his bias.

Why do you have algorithms? And why have you limited my access to my own account, unsubscribe followers I've accepted and erase Tweets I've written?
We are not talking about political viewpoints. We're talking about a conspiracy theorist who harassed the families of dead kindergartners until they went into hiding. This is not about views, this is about virulent lies and violent harassment.
Speaking out against TERFS (which is not a slur, it's just a descriptor of political views) gets you banned on twitter, but attacking the victims of violent crimes and tragedy is fine. Your notion of which "views" are protected and which violate rules is CORRUPT NONSENSE.
