I've RT'd a few other people who've made the same points as I'm about to make but in short:
-
1. Maggie's points are rather...Maggie and NYT specific and I'm not sure many would agree with her issues or solutions. 2. Twitter seems to be treating WOC who say negative things about white men in the same category of blockable behavior an anti-POC racism.
-
3. Twitter and Social Media companies in general are going to have to pick customer base they want to side with in terms of defining what is racism and what is unacceptable within that definition. I for one would side with POCs definition of it, rather than white people's.
-
4. Skilled, technically-savvy women have been trying to guide Twitter in improving the platform experience, and for the most part, none that i know have felt Twitter leadership has really wanted to hear them. That it was window-dressing to reach out to them.
-
5. Lastly, almost no one I know wants Twitter to curate content the way Facebook does. I know that "no one asked for this" gets chalked up to "sure you say that" but in this case it's very real. No algorithming content. Ads maybe, not feeds. It ruins the platform.

I think intellectual honesty and professionalism are key. Yellow journalism and brown journalism are global problems. Just as global is the negation discourse of the "hate speech" that the left attaches to everything and everyone. It is flawed of truth!

In many cases the relative truth, the pure and simple relative truth, is strong, it is aggressive to morals, customs, dogmas, ideology and other irrationalities. This is a "truth" aggression! It will not be denying the relative truth.
-
Life is not all red (left) and much less life is all blue (right). The dichotomized political system is in ruins all over the world. We have to get rid of him! Besides being illogical and pernicious to the popular representation, it is dishonest and tyrant.
