One week remains to tell ATP what you think about five light-rail options offered as part of Project Connect.
Each option includes ridership estimates. But the data used to calculate those estimates has been withheld from the public despite repeated pleas from elected officials.
ATP is now DENYING my request to get data inputs for their ridership model. They’re asking Paxton for permission to give me nothing. ATP claims CAMPO’s data is “proprietary” (?). Here’s their letter to me:

Let me explain how problematic this is… 1/2
I have huge respect for the people who even attempt let alone make bikeshares work in bike-hostile US cities.
Unit economics suggest keeping the systems smallish near the peak rides/vehicle, but the politics & maybe public welfare leans toward more coverage & increasing prices.
Lyft's financial troubles got me worried about the future of their near-monopoly on U.S. bike share systems — especially after the company shut down Minneapolis's bike share last month https://curbed.com/2023/04/lyft-bike-share-citi-bike.html…
My new hobby is taking graphs of economic data over time and indicating the year that Ronald Reagan was inaugurated, in case people find that helpful or informative.

Fossil-fuel friendly Texas has been walloping tree-hugging California in #solar growth and will soon overtake it for total utility-scale solar capacity👇

Sometime in May, those cowboys in Texas are expected to have officially added more utility-scale solar to their electric grid than the hippies in California have added to theirs, ending the Golden State’s perennial lead in this contest. @CanaryMediaInchttps://canarymedia.com/articles/solar/chart-whos-the-leader-in-utility-scale-solar-california-or-texas…
Forgot to post this earlier while I was waiting on a ride to the Orlando Airport, but I really enjoyed the live tracking feature on the iPhone Lock Screen.
Went down a rabbit hole for cross-industry innovations (when one industry borrows from another).
Here are 8 gems.
