I am excited to see what Booker, Yeaman, and Whitlock have to say about global adaptation and how it can impact our inference of local adaptation.

Jonathan Lenoir compiled a global database of >30k range shift estimates across both land & marine systems, covering 12415 taxa, 56 classes & 20 phyla. He showed that climate-driven range contractions are more widespread among terrestrial than marine taxa.

Last Friday, we reached 43.5°C in Montpellier: 5.8°C above any record since 1946 (previous record: 37.7 on 04/08/17). Nest-box observations from this week-end: it seems all great tit nestlings are dead.. We are witnessing how CC is inducing strong selection on timing of breeding.

From Fordham et al. in : locations of climatically stable regions varied considerably during glacial–interglacial cycles of the Late Quaternary, making them unlikely to be "cradles" of diversity in some speciation models.
