All five judges made excellent remarks, including the lone dissenting voice.
The #SabrimalaVerdict marks the dawn of a new India where, rightly, upholding Article 21 would take precedence over upholding Article 25. One hopes it would be applied fairly across ALL religions.

The most incisive comment of the day. Absolutely nailed it. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that, rationally speaking, Articles 21 and 25 CANNOT coexist - Fundamental contradiction of our Constitution. I see trouble ahead for SC. Spine, or Spinelessness.https://twitter.com/kushal_mehra/status/1045568233162657793 …

There can be no liberty unless you abjure Religion. Hundreds if not thousands of Religious edicts are discriminatory and violate Art 21. The SC would become a militant atheist if it was honest, which is great in my view, but would you or India accept this?https://twitter.com/AartiTikoo/status/1045624543526567936 …

One simply needs to use common sense, logic and rationality to have a rule of law that suits society at present.30 replies 61 retweets 192 likes -

Muslim Personal Law mandates marriage at 'reaching puberty' or age 15. The AIMPLB DOES NOT recognise the Indian Prohibition of Child Marriage Act.pic.twitter.com/Olq5OPZukc

I do not want my Supreme Court to be a coward like our pretend-liberals. If you have chosen Right to Life, Liberty, Equality, and Dignity over Right to Practice Religion - and KUDOS to you for having made that choice - then have the guts to go ALL the way. No double standards.

Well-written but flawed; in a way sanctions appeasement. You applaud the court for its Sabarimala verdict but when it comes to the Church, you ask: Is it proper for the State to remove the discriminatory practice of the church not ordaining women priests?https://twitter.com/pbmehta/status/1046543289342668802 …

This is why, sadly, I have to admit that
@rahulroushan is right. A progressive, secular State that, correctly, removes discrimination from the Hindu religion, but cowers behind a lamppost like a wet cat when it comes to other religions, is not a progressive, secular State.24 replies 524 retweets 951 likes -

You can't bemoan tyranny of your State and accept tyranny of your religion. Consequently, those who find nothing wrong in their Religion, preach it, say it promotes peace, liberty, and equality, but balk at the concept of a Theocratic State, are hypocrites of the highest order.

That test for Justice Chandrachud would duly arrive if ever he is asked to adjudicate on: 1. To ban or not the discriminatory practice of the church not ordaining women priests. 2. To ban or not non-medical male genital mutilation (circumcision).https://twitter.com/ARanganathan72/status/1049015372698058755 …

Anand RanganathanVerified account @ARanganathan72This is a click-bait quote. It made me read the entire article, and carefully. And I am thankful for this because Justice Chandrachud made a lot of sense in what he said in there. He is, to my mind, frightfully brilliant. I just hope he doesn't turn out to be a hypocrite. https://twitter.com/LiveLawIndia/status/1048973513279733760 …19 replies 177 retweets 331 likes
Why are you bringing in unrelated issues here. Sabarimala is a special case. It is totally unreasonable to compare it with what Church practices or circumcision! Here it is not a question of purity of women/discriminating against them! It is because the Devata is a Sannyasi..
