I'm not sure how Application Verifier helps in detecting security bugs. I used to use Application Verifier few years back, and I verified each bug found without Application Verifier with only full page heaps and it always worked. So I left using Application Verifier. Any thoughts

Oh yeah, I too mostly use it just for configuring Page Heaps. I don't find most of the other functions very useful for security testing (other than DirtyStacks).

That is good advice for *anyone* using Application Verifier. Apparently a lot of people have been bitten by it. They need to change the default to off - nobody even looks at the log files! That's a great blog post and I fully agree, the current default behavior is ridiculous! I don't have high hopes for it being changed any time soon though :(
