Problem with the Republican vision is that healthcare doesn't work like other markets.

US healthcare doesn't cost more because of lack of competition (as in competing entities).

One reason US healthcare costs more is that the costs are opaque.

US health care also costs more because it is not outcome based. Obama care tried to improve that.

i.e., US providers are incentivized to do a lot of tests, not to improve the patients' health.
