    This… In reality the one fundamental conflict at the root of so many of our issues today. As long as this question is not really seriously and justly addressed, the world remains far away from any prospect of lasting calm.

    I feel like every cell in my body is oversaturated with grief. Not because I'm defeatist or don't see people's ingenuity or resistance. But because despite 30 years of being a Palestinian on this planet, I still can't wrap my head around the enormity of suffering imposed on us.

    I am not Palestinian, but after following this for 20+ years, even w/the contributions made by both Israeli & Palestinian scholars, to debunking myths reinforced since before 1948; I find it difficult to wrap my head around the fact that it’s only gotten worse for Palestinians.

    The 2020 deal has weasel language in it allowing the Taliban to continue hosting al Qaeda as long as al Qaeda doesnt threaten the United States, fund-raise, recruit or train in Afghanistan. See Feb. 29, 2020, agreement, p. 3, Part Two, paras 2 and 3.

    In his opening remarks, acknowledged that the Taliban violated their commitments in the Trump surrender agreement. Then he goes on to note that the Taliban have pledged not to host al Qaeda. Then he says, “we intend to hold them accountable.” How?
