happened to become a fast and handy replacement for VMs. But we sacrificed security by reducing the isolation of workload. Can we regain safety while keeping the rich containers infrastructure? Read more in this worthy article by

Wow, that's gonna be my new favorite site ! I love learning about things through numbers! 🧐 (disclaimer: no ideas of their correctness)

I hadn’t known so many things about Linux until I started my containerization journey. And this is only the beginning! I find the idea of rebuilding things from the basic components crucial for successful learning.

Blogged: Implementing Container Runtime Shim: Interactive Containers Have you ever wondered how interactive containers work in Docker or Kubernetes? See how I replicated this feature in my experimental container manager!😎

Learn how and *why* things work the way they do. Scratch beyond the surface. This prepares you to use knowledge in a lot more situations.

JavaScript is simple. Rust is gratifying. Java is corporate. Python is plain. Go is boring. Perl is messy. PHP is poor. C++ is monstrous. C is almighty! Assembly is dead?

By the way, have you ever seen a container runtime shim written in Rust? . I really enjoyed this experience. Writing low-level things in Rust is a pleasure. 👉 Containers are Linux! 👈

I replicated interactive 🔥 in my toy container manager! Now it's possible to attach to a running container, send in some data and stream back its stdout and stderr. One step closer to CRI compatibility! PR on GitHub

Programming is fucking hard. If you are starting to feel like it's not, you are underchallenging yourself. 🖖

Standup meetings are fine for teams who aren’t as deeply collaborative as they could be. But for teams who spend much of their days pairing, mobbing, and otherwise working closely together, standup meetings are probably redundant. YMMV.

Why all the DevOps & SRE people around me are chatting solely about CI/CD, Jenkins, puppet and alike? What's up with reliability? Seems like everything is hell resilient out there. vs

My despair grows with my learnings. There is no solid ground. Every piece of software is at best good enough. One does not simply write to files:

I just got the yearly report from . It mentions VSCode two times outperforms all the JetBrains IDEs combined (by the number of usage hours). But honestly, how come? What is so special about VSCode that people are migrating to it so actively?

Languages with a single-threaded execution model lacking built-in asynchronous I/O capabilities should be no go for server-side development in 2020! I'm looking at you, PHP and Perl. 🧐

A nice passage on how asynchronous I/O makes the need for backpressure mandatory. The author starts with Python and asyncio examples, but since the main idea is language-agnostic, the topic then gets expanded to other implementations.
