+1 This needs some fixing, it would take someone like 2 top2 finishes and 1 top4 in the online seasons to catch up with the anaheim players oO

The online competition is divided into three areas. Obviously it is much simpler to win the championship.

Usually you are right but this year the special case is chinese players and lyn cannot go to and Anaheim , it is competitive only for top 4, from 16 to 8 is not competitive at all.

Its only impossible to catch up if foggy/happy/hawk/thorzain continue to do well and can secure top 8 every season at least. If this doesnt happen, and a player is securing betger placements consistently then they will overtake them. The real issue is a lack of 5-6th place points

With another point system between 90 and 190, it gives the top 6 opportunity to overcome the anaheim players that cant get a top 4 or better placement. Not easy in a single elimination 8 person grid though. This is only unique to europe since only the top 5 get invited.

I am not a pro player and this does not affect me. I think competition on Anaheim was much bigger since all 3 regions were there, so it should be worth more points than just DH EU, or whatever region.. If we are talking about 1st, 2nd and 3rd then i am not sure how to approach

Competition in Anaheim wasn't bigger tho, ro8 was tougher, but just look at the groups, EU ro16 was much more stacked than that. Besides, there weren't even qualifiers for Anaheim, some players received invites with whatever criteria and massively boosted their points there.

@RealHeyoka We discussed it today, its a fair point but very difficult to solve. SC2 has the same problem but because of the amount of other methods to gain more points, its less of an issue. We'll see what realistic options there are. -
Wouldn't it get solved just by giving more points for the regional tournaments? Ro8 anaheim is almost 4x more points than ro8 in regionals eventhough groupstage arguably wasn't harder.
