    SW Railway have confirmed the level crossings that had been closed in order for train track improvement works to take place, are now open. The Rosemary Lane / Pig Leg Lane, Ryde level crossing was opened a couple of weeks ago.

    We've closed footpath V65a though Bonchurch landslip because of active land movement. We'll wait for the surface to adjust and settle and then try to make a new path through. This might take some time. Sorry about that.

    Using your communal food waste bin can make a real difference. Food waste is sent to Basingstoke to be recycled by anaerobic digestion into farmland fertiliser and generate electricity. No free food caddy? Order one at or call 01983 823777.

    We've closed the steps at Woody Bay, St Lawrence for safety. There appears to be land movement in progress in this area so we will have to wait until the land stabilises before we can repair and reopen them. We'll let you know here when we do.

    We're pleased to report that thanks to our team and contractors, the Devil's Chimney steps at Bonchurch Landslip are now reopened. It's a tricky place to work but we know how popular this extraordinary route is.

    Walkers are asked not to attempt the low-tide walk to St Helen's seafort from the beaches of Bembridge and St Helen's again this year, after advice from the Isle of Wight Safety Advisory Group.
