Apply the reversal test: imagine the world without circumcision "grandfathered in" from thousands of years ago. If someone invented it in 2018 and started performing it on newborns, what would we think of it?
Think about how bad the STD justification is: forcing all the downsides for some tiny chance of benefit decades from now. There's no time machine for future STD risk. If he wants it, he can consent to it as an adult.
Pretty much no one enjoys talking about this. But is the discomfort of talking about it worse than yet another person being subjected to a lifetime of dealing with the consequences of circumcision? I don't think so.
