“Why can’t you be like the German generals?” Donald Trump asked John Kelly, who was his White House chief of staff at the time, according to a new book. It depicts Trump as deeply frustrated by top military officials, whom he saw as insufficiently loyal. https://nyti.ms/3p3UMVY

Today 43 Republicans voted to keep insulin at $1200/mo instead of $35. Tomorrow every Republican will ask you to be outraged that gas is $5 instead of $3.
In the GOP world, $1200 for life saving insulin in fair play but $5 for gas is an outrage.
Vote them all out.
Edwin Díaz struck out every batter he faced for the seventh time this season. Mets pitchers struck out 19 batters in this game, a season high.
Just a dominant pitching performance. Here's Díaz's final pitch to freeze Austin Riley:
personally, I think the Mets strategy of having two generational starting pitchers and then a bunch of weirdos who routinely cause scenarios I’ve never seen on a baseball diamond is fun and good
Democrats passed a law that will lower the cost of energy, health care, and prescription drugs.
Republicans voted against it to protect drug companies, oil companies, rich people who cheat on their taxes, and big corporations that don’t pay any.
That’s the choice.
Remember in November that Republicans in this Congress voted against capping the price of insulin but went to the mat to defend billionaire tax cheats.
Did y’all know that Pimp C was not happy when he received an email of André rapping his verse with the drums removed? @iAmJeffSledge tells @itsthereal the full story
There's no question in my mind that the moment Buck took the job, he recognized that Lindor - the best all-around player on the team - would be essential in changing the culture. If Lindor would buy in - to team, to a common goal, to legacy, to leadership - everyone would follow.
I’ve been noticing of late how much of a leader Lindor has been this season - talking with other players, giving advice on the field and even his postgame interviews are measured and enlightened. It’s such a difference from the guy he was last year: Baez’s partner in shenanigans.
platformed Russell Simmons. This is an insult to all survivors in NYC. I’m sending you strength and love. I’m especially mindful of survivors torn between their love for hip hop and Black culture and the struggle to love themselves. #MeToo
And corporate media doesn't see more jobs as good news because it means more upward pressure on wages for workers, so they focus on "inflation" and "no one wants to work anymore" stories instead.
Seriously, the most powerful people in the country — people who control the economy — believe that more jobs is really bad news. Just sit with that for a minute.
Stock market tanking this morning on the unexpectedly strong jobs report because Big Business and the Fed want more unemployment so they can use scarcity of jobs to force workers into accepting lower wages.
BREAKING:
JOBS REPORT OBLITERATES EXPECTATIONS
528K new jobs. Unemployment rate drops to 3.5%, wages accelerate to 5.2% YOY
Economists had expected 25K new jobs and the unemployment rate to hold steady at 3.6%
