So, @YouTube are now killing off great smaller channels on the partner program because they don't bring in over a certain amount of watch time/subscribers, yet they're happy to allow utter bellends with millions of subscribers to keep making money?
For context, someone that my girlfriend follows on Instagram received an email telling them they have 30 days to meet a set of criteria or they will be removed from the program entirely. I mean, fuck me, wasn't YouTube created as a place for ANYONE to share their content?
I'm lucky that @TheBlightyBunch has met the requirements for the past 12 months, or I'd be in the same boat. That said, I'm definitely considering venturing away from YouTube in the future if the platform doesn't get better at how it treats its creators.
I get there's a difference between those that do YouTube as their job, and those that do it as their hobby. Surely though, stripping away the benefits from those who're starting out is so counter productive?
