I think both games are great candidates for 3D, I'm more familiar with Unity, but
@itsJakeWilley swears by Unreal and its script capabilities now! I think? Slap me if I'm wrong Jakey
My preference is Unity for 2D/Mobile, Unreal for 3D/PC/Console. Unreal's gamepad input mapping is FAR better than Unity's, too.
