I can't stop thinking about God Of War. I've never known a game progress in such a concise way whilst maintaining the sense of freedom in the same way before.

It's so rewarding to explore, and never feels like a hindrance to the main quest's progression when you do so, either. The pacing of the game's linearity being broken down with open free-roam sections is spot on, too.

It's approach to puzzle solving is great, too. It adopts the same thing that Breath of the Wild does, too, by building upon a baseline set of mechanics that are established very early on in the game in such a way that hasn't yet felt stale or repetitive.

And my god, the combat is f*cking fantastic. I absolutely adore how fluid it is, and how experimental you can be with different move sets/skill trees. I loved the originaltrilogy for it's ability to make you feel like a badass at all times, and this one has that in spades.

The way the narrative is delivered is brilliant, too. Atreus asking Kratos questions about their journey is reflective of the player's intrigue, and the way that he responds is not only true to character but punchy and void of jargon.

I also find myself excited for boat-story-time.

Right?! I've paddled in so many circles listening to them all! I'm honestly an ENORMOUS fan of the no-cut camera

Absolutely! Arguably the most cinematic game experience I've ever had!
