    Devastated to her about the death of SOPHIE, she was a true visionary. In a world of increasingly samey music nothing sounded like her productions. Pop will be a duller place without her.

    Devastated by the death of SOPHIE, who wrote some of my favourite ever music. A staggeringly powerful artist whose honesty, emotional intensity and sense of puckish humour beautifully exploded ideas about underground and overground.

    This is rancid. A senior Tory MP told a bunch of COVID conspiracy theorists that the NHS is “manipulating” hospital capacity data and that masks are a way for the government to “control” people. And he refused to apologise when approached for comment

    The raid below was no one-off. Police nationwide were actively homophobic. One of my first jobs after i left school was working at the gay bar in Canterbury. The police used to raid it regularly, always on the flimsiest of pretexts. This was in the 90s.

    The RVT was raided by police wearing rubber gloves 34 years ago today, during the height of the AIDS crisis. Lily Savage was on stage at the time.
