Really? A lot of people steal, not all of them are homeless or in poverty. I get that some people are in difficult situations but this ain’t the answer. Also he had more than one item in that bag

Most people who steal are in poverty and do such out of necessity. There are policies that could help like strengthening welfare programs (which I doubt you support). But I'm asking about the short run: if not theft, how would you suggest people fulfill their immediate needs? 1/2

And yes, he took many items, but it does not appear that he was clearing the shelves of one item, instead taking what he needed for himself. And even if he was taking more than he needed, he was likely selling them at a lower price to other people living in poverty. 2/2
