    I've used coverage metrics to improve coverage, with ratcheting as described, but I don't like it much and I have seen it fail spectacularly These days I teach - Do TDD and you'll get whatever coverage you need Coverage can be useful to know, always bad as a goal

    Ratcheting is a very different approach. mentioned it briefly in the CD book. I'd set your code coverage target to be the _current_ coverage % , then rip out unit tests for getters and setters, then see how far you've fallen behind the target

    There is no team without process. There are several better words to describe such. Focusing on teams doesn’t help teams. Focusing on customers (purpose, why) and flow (value delivery process) helps teams. Yes, the gaslight we see is really there.
