this wild for many reasons but mostly bc it reinforces how nothing about the phrase "27 billion dollar endowment" means anything to anyone lolhttps://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/08/sports/coronavirus-stanford-cuts.html …

This is actually so infuriating- I understand if they’re gonna cut these sports to reallocate funds to helping students... But they’re just gonna plant another palm tree with this or keep hoarding their money

yeah it fuckin sucks idk i’ve always had mixed feelings abt giving scholarships out for rich white kid sports like fhockey/crew but to cut things entirely is wild and nobody really believes them when they say “we don’t have enough money” anyways

I completely agree with that but if you look at the sports they cut, those aren’t even really the scholarship heavy ones. From the letter itself: “Many of these sports currently compete without a full complement of scholarships” They just want to keep stacking their money

yeah that’s true re: scholarships i guess i meant a more general sports/school question of admissions, money etc that’s not specific to stanford definitely nothing makes sense abt financials like the letter even says “we’re short on money for academics” like ok how lol
