idk if the same people who defend the right of extremists & conspiracy theorists to spread bullshit all over the internet without getting "cancelled" have a right to the moral high ground on this one
also totally false equivalence between tech people saying "it's ok to have adhd" vs the much more severe problem of someone who's been immersed in a deeply paranoid media environment for like 10 years

imo taking the former seriously and punishing the latter would just undermine the former long-term but i don’t think anyone wants to “punish” the latter anyway, it’s just really easy to let (perhaps justified) political anger take over when we see it
