Ahhh, hmm. Yeah that’s true and I think true of mandopop too afaict from my recent foray into douyin. Chinese music still loves the R&B drama soundtrack vibe though
oh yeah i’ve gotten my hair cut at the same place for like my whole life and the guy always played chinese pop in the background and i remember one day a couple years ago i walked in and the music was like......tropical house but in chinese lmao i was shaken to the core

Okay that said though i forgot that China also really loves horrible electronic music that is basically just noise which they blast at like 140dB at the clubs. It clips the speakers. it’s so bad. I do not get tub
