did you read the thread? you’re focusing on a different issue: facial recognition is bad for society... she’s focused on: facial recognition is already used in society and is harmful to people of color because it was trained to bias high accuracy for lighter faces.
i know this and i literally agree with it and i talk about this shit all the time and what i’m saying is that her phrasing does not communicate that in a productive or useful way

i agree w rep tlaib and i find it tremendously powerful to have a view i hold echoed, bluntly, by a representative. i think it's an important declaration to make. those in power don't plainly call racist things racist nearly enough
