I think the argument is 1. growth is the most important thing 2. capitalism promotes growth (vs Marxism promoting equality), and growth is change over time, so we need to talk about history to see it
yeah i think that's an accurate take on the framework. the key thing is people no longer believe in the first point and initiatives like this fail to really ask why that is. lots of just preaching to the choir which is not great when you represent the status quo

I don't think the marxist tweens would agree with the claim "folks in the 20th percentile of earners today have a better quality of life than 80th percentile earners in 1920 because of capitalism."
