was playing hanabi and there's a fun tradeoff where you can act big (giving information) that then removes an opportunity for someone else to act big, or you can act small (discard) that gives that opportunity to act big to someone else. turns out everyone wants to be the hero

I love it when you can stack the big acts... if you have the right Hanabi partner you can alternate sharing info and stack the knowledge needed to then execute a series of moves that clear the decks

I find Hanabi most satisfying when both parties reciprocate those big acts of generosity, delaying the gratification of laying down the next firework card if accumulated knowledge reveals that further big acts will (eventually) lead to greater pyrotechnic glory
