the wechat model minority discourse is extremely high rn they are Not happy abt the yale letter.........imo the language in that was a mistake chinese parents aren't ready for the full language of progressive activism u gotta phrase shit in terms they can understand

sad to see few asian faces in rwc the other day. the town is not historically asian but damn there are more of you than this! imo white collar immigrants are often detached bc their pov is ahistorical. i'm japanese and i didn't really know abt internment til i was like 24!

the ahistorical thing is huge, educating here requires a lot of ground up work like literally starting from slavery. saw a wechat thing like "we succeeded in america the land of opportunity so why can't they" and it's like, well the opportunity just wasn't there for a long time
