it’s entirely reasonable to be suspicious of tech + law enforcement at a time like this. at the same time these platforms are used for things like sharing child sex abuse, revenge porn, etc and encryption makes it impossible for platforms to report
it’s an ongoing & difficult & unresolved problem and for media to flip it one way to capitalize on stuff like current protests and another way once another story comes out about some cp ring somewhere is stupid
