most online news discourse focuses on business models but it’s amazing to me how little thought old school newspapers have given to the impact of formatting & presentation on this transition. stories in a print paper have a clear hierarchy none of which has translated to online

+ reminds me of literal fake news websites from 2016/2017 (https://www.wired.com/2017/02/veles-macedonia-fake-news/ …) & going down the rabbit hole, i saw that it was easy to mistake quality/likeness of the web design w legitimacy, w the implication it had to have been to afford quality
