one thing i don’t like abt a lot of modern messaging apps eg imessage fb messenger slack is there’s a weightiness & friction to each message — the sent/delivered status, the send sound, the icon. i just wanna shoot thoughts out back & forth as fast as i can type

gchat was so fucking fast there's a rhythm to it, u also see it with other lightweight interfaces like twitch chat and irc that aren't weighed down by stuff like message bubbles & sender right alignment & lots of whitespace everyone just goes a little harder

i was so mad when gchat disappeared. a bunch of friends use hangouts and its like the antithesis of what i want from a chat program so i just defaulted to discord cause it was the most convenient program... but now if i try to get other ppl to use it it outs me as a Gamer
