the pace of tech in schools is weird bc of institutional friction and the last few decades have been so fast it's all jumbled up. i got an iphone in high school but 2 years prior was using overhead projectors and 3 years before that was playing oregon trail on an apple ii
A few of my profs at UBC still use them for lectures. Not because there isn’t newer tech but they’re just stubborn/old school.
yeah! i asked bc i've had profs use the digital ones w/a camera pointed at paper but you can't wipe/reuse those the way you can w/plastic and tbh lots of ipad handwriting stuff still isn't that great so honestly the overhead holds up pretty well
i still see some of these ohps around in singapore (the schools had a modified "electronic" version) but still a rare enough sight

We used these as recently as 2005. I remember my dad driving me to Kinko's to have copies of my presentation made on transparencies.
