once u dissect a body and literally see all the fuckin nerves and vessels laid out for u it's impossible to forget like. i like to lie on my side in bed and eventually my last 2 fingers will go numb and it's like oh that's pressure on the ulnar nerve. i've seen an ulnar nerve

also all the weird asymmetries like everyone kinda takes organ placement for granted sure ur spleen's on the left or whatever but sometimes it's like oh this nerve loops around extra long on the right side but not the left. why? idk man why not

Anatomy is how we doctors function at all. Stick someone in a basement for months with dead bodies and terrible smells, and they'll have a much easier time with a shotgun wound to the face or whatever awful injury/disease you can imagine.
