the only really interesting remote work discussion is how will organizations navigate the balance of using remote to give optionality & flexibility & access vs using it to offload costs onto workers

extends to indirect things like telehealth as well, eg lots of tech cos provide free mental health services to employees — however in my experience most therapists on those services only do video and it's bc it's cheaper, and i'd rather just have good insurance to go in person

it's a huge recurring theme of the past 5-10 years you see it with gig economy stuff, you see it with online education — someone's gonna use tech to expand access & scale a good thing, do you also trust them to not abuse it to cut that good thing's quality guarantees

Pretty sure this current push for remote work comes from execs realizing it's way cheaper to scare everyone into staying home as long as possible. Anyone who is actually experiencing equivalent productivity in this situation wasn't productive in the first place.
