Gov't should be funded enough to take care of their people. It shouldn't be the responsibility of the people to do the job of gov't. That requires a willingness to pay more taxes, and demand changes in zoning laws that have led to CAs housing crisis. That dystopia was voted for.

I finally saw The Last Black Man in San Francisco (so good!) and loved the line, "You don't get to hate San Francisco unless you love it."

Facts, Jimmie touched a nerve with that. San Francisco is a unique & beautiful city and I think ppl forget when it comes to the current state it’s in.

Tech industry didn't create the problem. NIMBY regulations did. San Francisco could have been more like Tokyo, where housing cost is significantly lower.

Many of these people are H1B workers who don't have rights to vote, need to renew their visa every single year and need to be very cautious when they change jobs because they might get kicked out. What if these people are allow to vote and given a voice at the first place?

i specifically left SF because i felt so powerless, despite having a green card, aka ~pErMaNeNt ReSiDeNcE~, but not being able to participate in the politics of my place of residence, was just far too frustrating (that and it wasn't addressing problems without my participation)
