tbh i think a big factor in night productivity is the fact that i know nobody's around to talk to, i think if my teammates were also up at that time it might defeat the purpose for me

Ah fair enough ... I am kind of in the same situation here. Working remote with my team mostly in California. This gives we quite some uninterrupted time to finish stuff before they wakeup

This is 100% what it is for me. No slack notifications, no emails, no meetings, far fewer distractions. At about 5am the east coast starts getting up and that means it's time to go to bed.
