i get really uncomfortable when text editors don't pad the bottom of the input area or otherwise let you scroll into empty space so that if you're typing at the end of existing input you're just at the bottom edge of the window
feels unwelcoming to be at the end of eg a page in word or at the last cell of a jupyter notebook it's like you have nowhere else to go. sublime has a nice "scroll past end" setting that lets you keep some nice empty space visually ahead of you
Yes! JIRA's text boxes don't handle this well and it's been bothering me. The last line I type is covered by a horizontal scroll bar and its so off putting.
